Bluffton women drop 5-0 decision to Hanover

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University Beavers took a tough loss against Hanover College on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015. The match ended 5-0 in favor of the Panthers as the Beavers dipped to 4-6 and 0-1 in the HCAC. Hanover upped its season tally to 6-4 and 1-0 in the HCAC.
The Beavers fought hard for the ball but spent the bulk of the afternoon on defense against the Panthers. The visitors wasted little time putting their first notch up on the board. Hanover's Cassidy Evanson connected with Katie Koopman less than two minutes in for the quick 1-0 lead. By the end of the first half the Panthers were up 2-0 thanks to an Elaine Simpson goal.
Bluffton continued to fight in the second half, but they just couldn't match up to the Panthers' 25 shots for the game. The Beavers managed only two attempts in the 5-0 setback. Brittany Huff (Union/Northmont) had 11 saves in her first action as keeper.
The women will return to action at the Sears Complex this Wednesday, Oct. 6 against Anderson at 4 p.m. Come out and support your Bluffton University Beavers!
