Mohler named HCAC Player of the Week
BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton University’s Sydney Mohler (Lima, Ohio/Central Catholic) helped the Beavers post sweeps of Earlham and Goshen during the week and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week on defense.
It marks the third straight week that a Beaver has been named the HCAC Player of the Week, following back-to-back honors for Jenny Brown (St. Marys/Memorial) on offense.
The sophomore libero picked up 37 digs and averaged 6.2 digs per set in the two victories. Mohler also chipped in with eight assists and four service aces in the wins.
Bluffton (11-6, 2-0 HCAC) will host rival Defiance at 7 p.m. on Wednesday before traveling south to face Transylvania at Lexington, Ky., on Friday evening.
