Bluffton Public Library hosts second Japanese Culture Event
Bluffton Public Library welcomes Ayane Hida, Japanese Outreach Coordinator of the University of Findlay’s Mazza Museum, for a second event at the library this year. With such a positive response garnered from the Bluffton community following Ms. Hida’s first Japanese calligraphy event, library staff look forward to this second installment featuring food, culture, and inspiration. This event will take place on March 1st at 6 p.m.
After an injury in Kyoto, her home town, Ms. Hida faced six surgeries only shortly before leaving her home country for two years of service on the other side of the world. Her story is one of perseverance and positivity, and she tells it with a mission to educate, inspire, and humor. Ms. Hida will share her stories on the lower level of the library following a demonstration of how to make vegetarian sushi. Food items are funded by the Japanese Outreach Initiative (JOI).
Registration for this event may be completed on the library’s website, by phone (419)-358-5016, or by emailing [email protected]. Please register by February 26 to ensure enough supplies for each participant. When registering, please note the number of people in your party and any food allergies present in your group.
