Incoming 7th graders for the 2016-17 school year are required to have a Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis) vaccination prior to the start of the school year.
Additionally, in an effort to boost meningitis protection for young Ohioans, state lawmakers have added the Meningococcal vaccine as a requirement for students entering the seventh grade and a second dose before twelfth grade.
Students entering 12th grade are required to get one meningitis booster prior to the start of the school year, but two doses for seniors will not be required if the first dose was received after age 16 or if the child is a senior and is age 15. Students without proof of vaccination will be subject to exclusion from school.
The special teen clinic is being held to help parents and guardians prepare for this new vaccination requirement, Please bring your child’s immunization record and insurance card to the appointment. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
