Spirit Week and all that homecoming stuff on the BHS calendar
Bluffton High School is a busy place this month, especially with homecoming on the horizon. Here's some event and news updates from the school website:
Homecoming Spirit Week:
Monday, Sept. 19 - "I wake up like this"
Tuesday, Sept. 20 - "Peace & Love/Hippy Day"
Wednesday, Sept. 21 - "A Day at Disney"
• Freshman - Alice in Wonderland
• Sophomores -Toy Story
• Juniors - Lilo & Stitch
• Seniors - Peter Pan)
Thursday, Sept. 22 - "Rock & Roll"
Friday, Sept. 23 - "Pirate Day"
Homecoming Parade: There will be a homecoming parade on Friday, Sept. 23, at 5:30 p.m.. If you are interested in being in the parade you need to be at Snider Road at 5 p.m. to line up.
Homecoming Dance: There will be a homecoming dance on Saturday, Sept. 24, from 8-11 p.m. in the Middle school cafetorium. If you are bringing a guest from another school you must fill out a form ahead of time, which is in the high school office. Tickets will be sold the week of Sept. 19 during lunch for $8 per person. Tickets purchased at the dance will be $10 per person.
Red Cross Blood Drive: The Red Cross will hold a blood drive in the middle school gymnasium on Thursday, Sept. 22, from 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
FASFA Financial Aid Meeting: There will be a parent/student financial aid meeting for all juniors and seniors who plan on attending college, on Wednesdays, Sept. 14, at 7 p.m. in the high school library. Information regarding the FASFA will be discussed.
The Ball Metal Aluminum Can Challenge for 2016 will hold its final collection on Thursday, Sept. 29, between 7:30 and 8 a.m. at the Jackson Street entrance of the high school. Bluffton is currently in second place overall.
Yearbook - If you would like to purchase last years 2015-16 yearbook the cost is $55. The deadline is Friday, Sept. 16, to purchase one.
Attention Seniors: The Campus Life Spaghetti lunch will not start until Wednesday, Sept. 21. The cost this year is $3.
Auditions for the fall play will be held on Sept. 19 and 20. If you are interested in trying out for the play you need to sign up on the wall outside of the high school choir room. The play will be performed on Nov. 11 and 12.
Attention Juniors and Seniors: The following college reps will be in this week: Thursday - the University of Cincinnati during 2nd period;
Friday - Ohio State University during 7th period.

Boys' basketball open gym Wednesday, 6:30-8 p.m.

Girls' soccer vs. Allen East 5 p.m.
