Patricia McCafferty was retired from Bluffton Hospital
Patricia Ann McCafferty, 73, died March 5, 2017, at Bluffton Hospital. She was born May 17, 1943, in New Jersey to the late John and Anita (Matthews) Derry. On Oct. 21, 1977, she married Bob McCafferty who survives.
Pat graduated from Chagrin Falls High School in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. She retired from housekeeping at Bluffton Hospital and also volunteered at the hospital. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Bluffton. Pat enjoyed gardening, reading and traveling to Maine.
Survivors also include five children, Rebecca Searcy of Port Melbourne, Australia, Benjamin Searcy of Sebastian, Florida, Margaret "Peggy" (Ed) Bird of Brecksville, Ohio, Renee (Brendon) Matthews of Bluffton, Christine McCafferty of Bluffton; six granddaughters, Grace, Madeline and Audrey Bird, Clara, Olivia and Nora Matthews; two brothers, Robert (Leslie) Derry of Vero Beach, Florida, and Jack (Alice) Derry of Oroville, California.
Pat was preceded in death by an infant daughter.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 10, at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Pastor Terry Hunt officiating. Burial will be in Thompson Cemetery near Bluffton following the service.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 6- 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bluffton Hospital Auxiliary.
