Watch the Aug. 21 eclipse from the library
Bluffton Public Library is ready for the eclipse of our lifetime.
The big event of the summer is from 1:01 to 3:50 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 21.
John George, Bluffton High School chemistry teacher, will be on site, ready to answer questions and offer guidance as the eclipse happens.
Advance registration is required and all participaants must wear the special eclipse viewing glasses that will be provided.
And as a warm-up to the eclipse at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 15, program for all ages on the solar system is planned in the library's lower level.
Mr. George will share how our solar system works through a variety of fun, interactive learning experiences. Registration is required.
This program is designed for age 4th grade through adult. Younger children may register, but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
And then, changing the subject, the library hosts a program by Southeastern Ohio Society for Bigfoot Investigation (SOSBI) at 6 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 17.
This is the second time the library has invited the society to speak here, with the 2015 program reaching over 100 audience members.
Registrants will listen to a lecture, including accounts of experiences in the woods, and may take a look at SOSBI’s display items and enjoy refreshments provided by the library.
