New look for an old alley
Imagine an attractive green space where an alley now exists.
Imagine that the alley is between Bluffton Presbyterian Church and the building at 120 N. Main St.
If plans under consideration by Bluffton council's streets, lights and alleys commitee work out that project may turn green quicker than you realize. Here is an overview of the project as its discussion continues.
The council committee met Friday evening and reviewed several options to improve the alley. These include a proposal to the alley owners to deed it to the village. The owners are Bluffton Presbyterian Church and Gary and Shannon Reese.
The ultimate goal is to turn the alley into a usable attractive green space with benches, trees, flowers and tables.
Additional partners in the project include Patriot Concrete, Snyder Excavating, Bluffton Stone Co., and Bluffton's America in Bloom committee.
An estimated price tag for the transformation is $15,000, and a completion date of later this spring. Follow the Icon as additional details are released.
