(ELIDA) - After a tie and a tournament style shootout loss, the Pirate boys soccer team earned their first win in a big way Saturday afternoon. Bluffton surged ahead eight minutes in when Montel scored off an assist from Luke Young. Nine minutes later, Mansfield St. Pete tied the score at 1-1 but the Pirates scored the final six goals of the match for the win. In addition to the Montel tallies, BHS got two goals from Tayton Kleman and one each from Jayden Mays and Isaiah Schwab.
The Pirates outshot the Spartans by a 22-3 margin. Bluffton keepers Dakoda Clymer and Nick Essinger each came up with one save.
