Caughman Health Center receives $38,000 grant
Blanchard Valley Health Foundation (BVHF) recently granted more than $38,000 to Caughman Health Center, a division of Blanchard Valley Health System that provides family practice and pediatric care to area residents, regardless of their ability to pay.
The grant funds were used to purchase pediatric hearing equipment, ultrasound power tables for patient rooms, 10 exam beds, and chairs for both visitors and associates.
Caughman Health Center offers patients health services with fees based on a sliding scale to assist those in need of affordable care. Most insurances are accepted, including Ohio Medicaid and self-pay, and financial assistance is available for those who quality. Caughman Health Center also offers an on-site laboratory, pharmacy assistance program, social workers and a care navigator for patient convenience. The new equipment purchased with the grant allows the experienced health care providers at Caughman Health Center to better serve the community. Caughman Health Center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and individuals can schedule an appointment by calling 419.427.0809.
Through BVHF, Blanchard Valley Health System associates are given the opportunity to donate a portion of their paychecks to enhance or expand medical services. They may choose to donate to a department-designated fund, also known as a temporarily restricted fund, which are funds restricted for specific departments. Caughman Health Center’s grant was funded through its department-designated fund, which was formed primarily through associate donations.
“The grant funds that Caughman Health Center received exemplify that when associates give to their own department or an area of the health system they are passionate about, they can see firsthand where their dollars go and help their own organization provide exceptional care,” shared Sophie Miller, development associate at the BVHF. “Caughman Health Center has benefited greatly thanks to Blanchard Valley Health System associates assisting the organization.”
Community members are also encouraged to donate to BVHF and help establish funds such as this one. Funds raised through BVHF help Blanchard Valley Health System continue striving to provide the community with the highest quality care. To make a donation to BVHF or a specific Blanchard Valley Health System department or office, contact BVHF at 419.423.5457 or [email protected].
