Non-injury accidents, thefts and fraud complaints
Bluffton police released its December 2018 docket, which follows:
December 1
Officers responded to a North Lawn Avenue residence in reference to a domestic dispute.
December 2
Officers responded to a non-injury traffic crash at the intersection of Jackson Street and College Avenue. A Bluffton resident was issued a citation for failing to yield the right of way. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
December 3
Officers responded to a noninjury traffic crash near the intersection of Huber Street and Jefferson Street. A Pandora resident was issued a citation for assured clear distance ahead. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
December 9
A North Dixie Highway resident reported a criminal damage to police.
Officers responded to a noninjury hit/skip crash in the 100 block of East Elm Street.
December 11
Following a traffic stop in the area of the 400 block of Greding Street for a speeding violation, officers conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle. After a brief investigation, a Leipsic native was arrested for driving under suspension, fictitious plates and felony possession of narcotics. The case is pending in Findlay Municipal Court where the original violation occurred.
December 13
Officers responded to the 500 block of State Route 103 in reference to an assault.
Officers responded to the university where a student filed a criminal damage report.
Officers received a fraud complaint from a Cherry Street business.
Officers responded to an injury traffic crash in the 400 block of State Route 103. Upon investigating the crash, officers arrested a Lima native for driving under suspension and failing to yield the right of way. The charges are pending in Findlay Municipal Court.
December 16
Officers responded to a fight complaint in the 400 block of State Route 103.
December 19
A Triplett Drive business reported a criminal damage complaint to police.
Following a traffic stop in the 500 block of Jefferson Street for an equipment violation, officers arrested an Ada native for driving under suspension and expired license plates. Officers also issued a citation to the vehicle owner for wrongful entrustment. Both cases are pending in Lima Municipal Court.
December 20
Officers received a fraud complaint from an East College Avenue resident.
December 21
Officers received a telephone annoyance complaint from an East College Avenue resident.
Officers responded to a non-injury traffic crash near the intersection of County Line Road and Jefferson Street. A Bluffton resident was issued a citation for assured clear distance ahead. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.
December 22
Following a traffic stop in the area of Main Street and Elm Street for an equipment violation, officers arrested a Maplewood teenager for OVI and possession of drug paraphernalia. The case was referred to the Allen County Juvenile Court.
December 27
Officers received a fraud complaint from a Shannon Street resident.
December 28
A South Main Street resident reported a theft from a vehicle to police that occurred sometime during the overnight hours the previous night.
