The Bluffton Senior Citizens Center has released its Our Version of Adult Learning (OVAL) schedule for the fall, according to Tonya Meyer.

The schedule follows:

Wednesday, Sept. 4 at 10 a.m. Alice Warigia Hinga will present “Tumaini Brooks Centre in Kenya.” The Centre schools, feeds and cares for poor children in Kenya. Alice is from Kenya and works for the Centre. She will be in Bluffton for only a week and will be at the Senior Center to tell us about the Tumaini Brooks Centre. There is no fee for this class and no reservations are needed.  

Friday, Sept. 27 at 1 p.m. Della Salter will present “Thailand.” This is rescheduled from the spring when it got flooded out. Come and see pictures of Della’s trip to Thailand including riding an elephant. There is no fee for this class but reservations are requested.

Monday, Sept. 30 at 10 a.m. Linda Pollitz will present “Brain Health.” Linda was here in April and did a program on the signs of Alzheimer’s. She is back to teach us how to keep our brains healthy. There is no fee for this class but reservations are requested.

Monday, Oct. 7 at 10 a.m. Shelley Kotz will present “Lucretia Mott.” Lucretia Mott was a Quaker woman of the 19th century known for both her abolitionist activity as well as for being one of the leaders in the early women's rights movement. Shelley will portray Lucretia. She does this as part of a program called Women in History which is a part of Toledo Branch American Association of University Women. There is no fee for this class but reservations are requested.

Friday, Oct. 11 at 1 p.m. Tonya Meyer will present the movie “On the Basis of Sex.” The movie is based on Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s early career and her fight against gender discrimination. We will have free popcorn with the movie and open discussion after the movie. There is no fee for this class and no reservations required.

Monday, Oct. 14 at 2 p.m. at Maple Crest the Hancock Historical Society will present “ABC’s Graveyards.” The program is free and open to the public. Please meet at Maple Crest.

Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 10 a.m. Janette Reineke will present “Painting Flowers the Easy Way.” Jeanette will provide everything you need for this project. This class is limited to 12 people so that Jeanette can give individual attention to each student. If there is enough interest, she will present the class again on October 30. The cost of the class is $70 for members and $75 for non-members. Please wear old clothes. Reservations are required.

Thursday, Oct. 17 at 10 a.m. Daniel Hodges from the Johnny Appleseed Park District will present “Ohio Fall Foliage.” Daniel is returning with another great program. Come and celebrate the beauty of Fall with us. There is no fee for this class but reservations are requested.

Monday, Oct. 21 at 10 a.m. Cheryl Fortman with AARP will present “Caregiving.” We never know when we will be thrust into the roll of caregiver for a loved one. Come and prepare yourself for one of the most important rolls of your life.   There is no fee for this class but reservations are requested.

Monday, Nov. 11 at 2 p.m. at Maple Crest the Hancock Historical Society will present “Findlay Men at War.” The program is free and open to the public. Please meet at Maple Crest.

Monday, Dec. 9 at 2 p.m. at Maple Crest the Hancock Historical Society will present “Victorian Christmas.” The program is free and open to the public. Please meet at Maple Crest.
