“Living Through Loss” Series begin
The 31st annual “Living Through Loss” educational series will begin on Monday, Sept. 16, through Bridge Home Health and Hospice, a division of Blanchard Valley Health System.
Presentations are held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Marathon Auditorium at Blanchard Valley Hospital, 1900 S. Main St., Findlay. The topic for September will be “The Journey through Grief: What to Expect along the Way” presented by Tonya Camden, MSW, LISW-S.
Camden has a master’s degree in social work from the University of Toledo and is a licensed clinical social worker. She has spent the last 13 years as both a caseworker and supervisor in child welfare. Camden now splits her time as a professor at Bowling Green State University and as a clinical therapist at Lutheran Social Services.
“Living Through Loss” is a nine-month series that focuses on the issues surrounding the death of a loved one.
Presentations provide information related to the grief process and offer opportunities for discussion. Although the thought of speaking up in a group can be intimidating, many attendees find the discussion helpful as they discover their questions and concerns are similar to others. Camden will be available to speak with attendees in private following the presentation. Each monthly presentation is open to the public and registration is not required.
Topics and dates following the September presentation are as follows:
- Oct. 21: Dispelling the Myths & Misconceptions of Grief and Food vs. Mood
- Nov. 18: Facing the Holidays After a Loss
- Dec. 16: Guilt, Anger and Challenges
- Jan. 20: Understanding Depression in Grief
- Feb. 17: Taking Care of You
- March 16: Family Dynamics of Grief
- April 20: Grief and Tough Topics
- May 18: Reinvesting in Life: Discussing Growth, Reconciliation and Renewal
This series is sponsored by Bridge Home Health and Hospice. For questions or to have a full program brochure sent to you, please contact Kristi Beall, Bereavement Coordinator, at 419-423-5351 or email [email protected].
