Bluffton's 150th anniversary planned June 24 to July 2, 2011
Icon viewers:
As you know, after the Blaze of Lights this fall, another big event is coming up. The 150 years of progress, Bluffton's sesquicentennial, will be held June 24 to July 2, 2011.
At the current time we need people to contact Terry Mullenhour and volunteer to design and embroidery a quilt square. She has the squares available and the information for the sesquicentennial quilt.
Also we need businesses to contact Diane Almanon, Jerry Burkholder or Dennis Morrison to make plans for projects they would like to include for the week of the sesquicentennial.
Clubs may contact Duane Bollenbacher or Traci Steele. Churches are invited to contact Beverly Amstutz to provide information about what they would like to do. Some ideas might be socials, floats or historical talks of their churches.
There will be a community church service during the that time.
As time goes on, I will add information about events being planned. Also, the green box along Main Street in the Presbyterian Church yard will provide information.
Thank you for all your support for the great time in Bluffton's history.
