Bluffton schools will not conclude the 2019-20 school year early, according to Greg Denecker, superintendent.
In a letter to parents and students posted on the school website, Denecker writes that some schools are ending the school year early, but not Bluffton.
He states that decisions such as these (ending the school year early) are directly against what the Ohio Department of Education has advised schools to do with their academic calendars.

Denecker writes, "I have heard many positive comments and have been amazed at some of the creativity of our staff. As has been stated before, our teachers are trying to strike a balance between giving students a quality education without putting too much stress on students or parents; I am hopeful that we have achieved that balance."
He continues: "Bluffton Schools are committed to completing the academic year, so please encourage your child/children to give it their all over these final weeks of May.
"While we know that distance learning cannot replicate all the elements of traditional learning, we believe it is important to continue to educate students as originally planned. This will give students the best opportunities for success as they move onto the next grade level or graduate."
