Curbside service debuts at public library June 1

Starting Monday, June 1, patrons of Bluffton Public Library may begin dropping off checked out library materials and scheduling pickups of available library materials, according to Jessica Hermiller, library director.

Dropping off materials
All library material drop-offs may be done at the library's 24-hour outdoor book drop only. The library doors will be locked and patrons will be unable to enter the building.

Picking up materials
Pickups for on-hold, now available library materials must be scheduled in advance and library staff members ask patrons to be patient as they adjust to new processes and limited staffing. Pickups will take place at the library's designated pickup location on the scheduled day and time.

"Curbside" pickup is available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. To schedule a pickup, patrons must visit blufftonpubliclibrary.org/curbside-pickup or call 419-358-5016 during curbside hours.

When scheduling an appointment, please choose a time within curbside hours, and within 15 minute increments.

Please notice: Your appointment is not scheduled until you receive confirmation through your specified preferred mode of contact.

If patrons do not have holds already available and waiting for them, the library offers two services:

• Patrons may use the library catalog to place holds on Bluffton Public Library items only:

• Patrons may request that a library staff member browse and choose items for them from the library's shelves.

Please note: Requesting personalized librarian browsing through this form may involve longer wait times than visiting our catalog directly and placing holds yourself.

For more information about these processes, visit the Curbside Pickup page on the library's website: https://blufftonpubliclibrary.org/curbside-pickup

Should you have any questions, the library encourages patrons to check out the Frequently Asked Questions section of their Curbside pickup page.

If you continue to have questions, please email [email protected].

"Thank you so much for your cooperation and continued patronage. We look forward to serving you," said Hermiller.
