Bluffton swim club defeats Ada

The Bluffton Swim Club won their dual swim meet with Ada High School on Thursday, Dec. 17, at the Putnam County YMCA in Ottawa.

Ella Armstrong finished with two first places and two second places, which included a victory in the girls 200 meter medley relay with a time of 2:10:45.

Nolan Hoffman won all three of his events, which included the boys 50 meter freestyle with a time of 26:91. Simon Derstine finished with two first places and two second places, which included a victory in the boys 200 meter freestyle relay with time of 1:49:47.

Jacob Lehman finished with three second places and a victory in the boys 100 meter backstroke with a time of 1:26:26.

Ellie Hoffman finished with three first places with a victory in the girls 100 meter breaststroke with a time of 1:22:33.

Erik Nygaard finished with three first places that included a victory in the boys 100 meter freestyle with a time of 1:06:11.

Allison Diller won all four of her events which included the girls 500 meter freestyle with a time of 6:24:81.

Izzy Stechschulte finished with a second place and three first places with a victory in the girls 50 meter freestyle with a time of 29:89.

Riley Verb won all four of his events which included the boys 200 meter individual medley with a time of 2:11:03.

The Bluffton Girls team outscored Ada 48 to 31 while the Bluffton boys' team outscored Ada 67 to 12. The overall team results showed that Bluffton finished with 115 total team points while Ada finished with 43 total team points.

Next up for the Bluffton Swim Club is the Holiday Invitational held at the Lima YMCA on Dec. 29.
