Lady Pirate spikers win 6th straight
The host Bluffton volleyball team swept league foe Delphos Jefferson in the Northwest Conference opener to register their sixth consecutive victory Thursday night, September 16.
The Pirate girls improved to 8-2 (1-0 NWC) with the 25-19, 25-9, 25-19 league win. DJ fell to 2-8 (0-2 NWC) with the loss.
Senior middle hitter Kylie Stackhouse hammered 22 kills and added one block to lead the victors.
Freshman Ayla Grandey knocked down 11 kills and made one block. Versatile senior Kylie Monday drilled 10 kills, came up with 11 digs and served a pair of aces.
Bluffton senior setter Skyler Scoles dished out 48 assists.
Senior Haelynn Bischoff added eight kills. Classmate Sophie Bricker hustled up eight digs.
Sophomore Olivia Siferd added one block.
The Bluffton reserves also defeated DJ, 2-1.
The Pirate girls visit local league rival Ada (1-9, 0-2 NWC) Tuesday, September 21.
