Yeagers selected as 2021 Citizens of the Year
The Bluffton Lions Club has announced that the 2021 Citizens of the Year for 2021 are Ed and Nancy Yeager. The club comments that the couple has "generously given much time and energy to multiple projects for the benefit of the Bluffton community."
Together, the Yeagers oversee the Bluffton Food Pantry, serving people in the village and surrounding area.
Nancy serves on the Bluffton Public Library board, and they both have been active on the board of Bluffton Family Recreation. Ed worked as treasurer of BFR for many years. Ed served as vice-president and then president of the Bluffton Housing Corporation for more than 10 years. He also served as president of the Bluffton Community Assistance Program.
Ed has been active in Lions Club projects, including the Annual Car Festival, Blaze of Lights, Corvette raffle project, pancake breakfast, and the Lions Club eyeglass project. Ed has also volunteered for maintenance work at the Bluffton School system.
The Yeagers are active members of St. Johns United Church of Christ.
A dinner to honor Ed and Nancy will be held at 6:00 p.m. on May 3 on the 3rd floor of Bluffton Town Hall, 154 N. Main. The public is invited and tickets may be purchased from John Rich or Barbara Plaugher.
