June 2-4 Friends Book Sale at the library
The Friends of the Bluffton Public Library invite you to "pick up some books you don’t have to return" at their book sale June 2-4 at the library, 145 S. Main. The event helps the Friends support the library in a variety of ways. Past contributions include improvements to the Toddler Room, staff development at conferences and refreshments for library events.
The book sale will be located on the library’s lower level, with hard cover books priced at $1 and paperbacks and childrens books at 50 cents. Music CDs, DVDs, books on CD, and videos are also included in the sale.
Book art samples will also be on display, with take-home instructions available.
Other advantage to buying at the sale? These are books you can leave it on vacation, take in the tub or to the beach, give it to a child or dog ear.
SALE HOURS
- Thursday, 9:30 a.m.-7:15 p.m.
- Friday, 9:30 a.m.-4:45 p.m.
- Saturday, 9:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
According to Olwen Pritchard, the Friends president, volunteers have done a huge clearing out of unsalable books and will begin taking new donations following the sale.
This is the Friends' first sale since 2019. A March 2020 sale was an early pandemic cancellation.
On September 22 the Friends will reintroduce their annual tea. Watch the Icon for ticket information.
Won't be in town? The Friends have books for sale year round on shelves near the drinking fountain.
