Private memorial will be held for Carol Schooner
Carol Schooner, 85, passed away June 15, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.
Carol was born January 25, 1937 in Peebles, OH, to the late Peter and Martha "Mittie" (Ball) Hoop. On October 19, 1978 she married Richard "Dick" Schooner who survives.
Carol was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time watching birds, watching "western's" on TV, playing crossword and Sudoku puzzles, mowing her yard and reading. She was a very giving woman, who donated to several organizations each year. You never left her home without a bag full of goodies. These bags could include anything from jewelry and towels, to pot holders and cookies. She always had a story to tell and a freezer full of ice cream. She loved her family dearly, especially her grandbabies.
She is survived by her husband, Richard "Dick" Schooner of McComb; her children, David (Kathy) Dulaney of Findlay, Pete Dulaney of McComb, Paul (Cindy) Dulaney of Fostoria, Julia (Roger) Cornette of Findlay, Angeliea (Gene) Taylor of Hubert, NC, and Pam (Jeff Watkins) Dulaney of Gilboa; thirteen grandchildren; twenty two great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Nina Dulaney; four step-children, Thomas Nichols, Robin Holmes, Sherri Schooner, and Rhonda Nichols; and two brothers, George "Arthur" (Shirley) Hoop and Charles (Lenore) Hoop.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Denton Dulaney; a son, John Dulaney; four siblings Donald Hoop, Keneth Hoop, Homer Hoop, and Virginia McKee; one grandson, Tyler Dulaney; one great-great-granddaughter, Maisyn Cornette; and her beloved dog, Amari.
A private memorial service will take place at a later date.
