Bluffton boys soccer blanks Van Buren
Playing at home, the Bluffton High School boys soccer squad shut out Van Buren 3-0 in a non-conference match Tuesday evening.
The Pirates improved to 3-4-1 with their second straight win. The Knights fell to 2-2-2 with the loss.
Nolan Hoffman netted a goal and assisted on the other two scores to
pace the victors. Hoffman started the scoring with a goal at the 18:40 mark on an assist from Justin Good.
Landon Novak scored to extend the lead to 2-0 on an assist from Hoffman 34:30 into the fray.
Pirate Ethan Oglesbee tacked on the only goal of the second half at the 52:40 juncture via another Hoffman assist.
Kyle Basil came up with one save in goal. Fisher stopped six Pirate shots. The Pirates put 11 of their 23 shots on goal, while VB got off six shots, one on goal.
Bluffton entertains undefeated WBL rival Kenton (6-0-1) Thursday, Sept. 15.
