Dough Hook collects donations to Ronald McDonald house
The Dough Hook Meat Market is teaming up with Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Ohio to help those in need. Throughout the months of November and December, The Dough Hook Meat Market will be collecting cash donations that will be turned into meat for the house’s freezer.
For over eight years, the Bluffton meat market has been donating frozen meat items to the Toledo house in an effort to cut down on rising food costs for the house. The Ronald McDonald House of Toledo and all Ronald McDonald Houses are run solely on donations like ones from The Dough Hook Meat Market.
As someone who had to utilize the house, Marlena Ballinger, owner of The Dough Hook Meat Market, is excited about giving back to the Ronald McDonald House of Toledo. “Several years ago, my daughter spent many nights in the Toledo Hospital Pediatric ICU. The Ronald McDonald house was a warm meal, a soft bed and a great place to take a break from being in the hospital with my daughter. I loved that it is right across the street so if I was needed back at the hospital, I could be there within a few seconds,” said Ballinger. “I am so grateful to have this platform to be able to give back to the Ronald McDonald House.”
Those wishing to donate may stop at The Dough Hook at 117 North Main Street, Bluffton or online at www.doughhook.com. Call 419-369-4264 if you have questions.
