Mennonite Mutual Aid Society hires Lynn Mohler as manager

Lynn Mohler of Elida joined Mennonite Mutual Aid Society-Swiss Mutual Insurance Agency, Bluffton, this winter as its manager, according to Lawrence Matthews, board chair.

"We are very happy to have Lynn join our company," said Matthews. "He holds extensive managerial, personal experience and leadership skills that will move our company forward."

Mohler is a lifelong resident of Allen County. From 2007 to 2009 he was vice president of development at WTLW TV, Lima. From 2003 to 2007 he was vice president of development for Lima Family YMCA. In addition, he is founder and superintendent for Temple Christian Schools, Lima, where he served from 1976 through 2002.

He holds a property/casualty license and accident/health license from the Ohio Department of Insurance. He has previous experience as a claims representative with State Farm Insurance.

Mohler holds a bachelor's degree from Ohio Northern University and master's of education in school administration degree from Wright State University, Dayton.

He has extensive community service, including serving as interim co-chairperson of Lima/Allen County Common Threads Educational Task Force; member and board member of the Sertoma Club, Lima; and Lima Family YMCA Heritage Club member.

Mennonite Mutual Aid Society is the oldest continually operating business in Bluffton. It was established in 1866. MMAS and its wholly owned subsidiary, Swiss Mutual Insurance Agency, offer home, personal property, farm property, liability, auto, crop and flood insurance.

In addition to Mohler, agents with the firm include John D. Diller, Pandora, Bethany Theis, Bluffton and Terry Kirkendall, Elida. Richard Jordan, Bluffton, offers crop insurance from Swiss Mutual Insurance Agency.

Board members along with Matthews are Paul King (company president), Keith Brauen, Larry Crates, Dan Fultz, Del Gratz, Lori Goldsberry, and Joe Saltzman, Jr.

The company's headquarters is at 208 S. Main St., Bluffton.
