BHS musicians and vocalists perform at OMEA solo and ensemble event

Bluffton High School Band director Dave Sycks reports that students attended Solo and Ensemble Adjudicated Events on Saturday, February 11, at St. Mary’s High School. The following ratings were earned:

Class A

Hannah Davis - Trumpet Solo - Superior rating
Alyssa Hoffman - Clarinet Solo -  Excellent rating

Class B

Adanna Johnstone - Violin Solo - Superior rating
Brooke Camper - Flute Solo - Superior rating
Saxophone Trio of Ben Hartzler, Alyssa Hoffman, Adanna Johnstone - Superior Rating
Ty Huffman - Marimba Solo - Excellent rating
Trombone Trio of Cole Bowers, Levi Fenzl, John-Paul Yoder- Excellent rating
June Essinger - Trumpet Solo - Good rating
Elizabeth Honse - Flute Solo - Good rating

Class C

Alyssa Hoffman - Saxophone Solo - Superior rating

UPCOMING
The Bluffton High School String Orchestra will be performing at the OMEA State Orchestra Adjudicated Event on Friday, Feb. 17, 2023. 

This event will be held in the Findlay HS auditorium. Performance time for Bluffton is 6:00 p.m. 

The 26-member orchestra will be playing in class "C" and performing "Korean Folk Song Variants" arranged by Elliot Del Borgo, "Ruminations" by Sean O'Loughlin and "Postcards from Russia" arranged by Carrie Lane Gurselle. The orchestra is under the direction of Rachael E. Lewis.
