August 18-19 grand opening and ribbon cutting for 1861 Wine Lounge
The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce has announced a ribbon-cutting ceremony for 1861 Wine Lounge at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 19. The event will take place at 115 N. Main Street in Bluffton.
The new business has fully repurposed the former business office building in downtown Bluffton and received the support of voters in Bluffton's precinct B in a ballot issue in May 2022.
In recent weeks the lounge's blinds have been down but tables appeared on the sidewalk, hinting at things to come. The chamber shared, "The 1861 Wine Lounge is set to captivate patrons with an impressive selection of wines, select bourbons featuring Horse Soldier Bourbon, and an assortment of domestic and craft beers. The ambiance of the lounge is designed to offer a serene and inviting escape, embodying the true essence of a lounge experience.
"The founders, Mike Burris and Mary Burris, extend a warm welcome to all to join us for this long-awaited event. As avid supporters of Bluffton's downtown, they envisioned the 1861 Wine Lounge as more than just an establishment: it's a testament to the town's character."
Hours for the business this weekend are:
Friday 12:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m.
Saturday 10:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m.
