Pirate girls soccer ties at end with Wapak / 2023 team roster

The Bluffton High School girls soccer team played to a gut-wrenching 1-1 tie with visiting Wapakoneta in a non-league match Tuesday night, August 22, at Steinmetz Field. (Game on YouTube.)
Both goals were scored very late in the match, with the Redskins tying it in the final minute to avoid defeat.
Pirate Blair Utendorf netted the game’s first goal in the 76th minute to give Bluffton a 1-0 lead. Aubrey Burkholder assisted on the goal.
But Wapak’s Gabby Raney spoiled the Pirate win by tallying the tying goal in the 80th minute.
The Lady Pirates put six of their nine shots on goal. Wapak fired 19 shots, nine of which were on goal.
Kynzie Young made eight saves in goal for Bluffton. Keeper Maddison Springer stopped two shots for Wapak.
Bluffton ran its record to 0-2-1 with the knot.
