Celebration of Life for Lowell and Marjorie Standeford 

A Celebration of Life Service to jointly honor the lives of Lowell and Marjorie Standeford will take place on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church located in Ottawa at 137 North Pratt Street. 

Lowell and Marjorie celebrated over 75 years of loving marriage - married on August 4th, 1946 at Orleans United Methodist Church in Orleans, Indiana. 

Surviving are Son Tom Standeford (Brenda), Son-in-Law Kurt Geisheimer (Debby), 5 Grandchildren, Megan Murphy, Andrew and Nathan Standeford, Jonathan and Shane Geisheimer and 14 Great Grandchildren. 

Lowell Standeford passed away on August 3, 2021 at the age of 98. Born January 24, 1923 to Oscar A. and Ella (Magill) Standeford in Orleans, Indiana and Graduated from Orleans High School as Class President in 1941. 

Lowell served in the United States Army Corp of Engineers during WWII, stationed in England. Upon return, he attended Purdue University and graduated with a Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1950. 

He accepted employment with Sylvania Electrical Co. in Ottawa, Ohio in 1950. Worked for over 30 years at the TV tube factory, retiring as the Production Supervisor of Quality Control. 

He attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Ottawa, Ohio since 1950 where he served on several of the church committees and played the church organ when needed. Lowell was an accomplished pianist and organist playing both since he was a child. 

Lowell is preceded in death by his Parents, Brothers Lloyd and Denzil Standeford, and Daughter Gloria Geisheimer (2009). 

Marjorie Standeford passed away on September 8, 2023 at the age of 99. Born October 9, 1923 to William L. and Verna (White) Dodds in Orleans, Indiana and Graduated from Orleans High School as Class Secretary in 1941. 

Marjorie attended Bryant-Stratton Business School in Louisville, Kentucky after Graduation. She accepted employment in 1942 as a Secretary with Woodward Insurance Co. in Bloomington, Indiana. 

She worked as a Secretary in West Lafayette, Indiana while Lowell attended Purdue University. After Lowell accepted employment with Sylvania Electrical Co. the couple moved to Ottawa in 1950 where they later celebrated the birth of their two children. 

She was a member of Phi Beta Psi Sorority, Trinity United Methodist Church, and Putnam County Senior Citizens Center.

She also played piano and was known for Piano-Organ duets with Lowell for special music performances at their church. 

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, brothers William, Robert, Richard, sisters Audrey and Mary, and daughter Gloria Geisheimer (2009).
