Global Weekend set at Bluffton University
Film, food and entertainment are planned for Global Weekend at Bluffton University on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 4 and 5.
The weekend will begin Friday with a 7:30 p.m. screening of the 1997 Italian film "La vita `e bella (Life is Beautiful)" in Centennial Hall's Stutzman Lecture Hall. Academy Awards went to the film as Best Foreign Language Film and to its star, director and co-writer Roberto Benigni as Best Actor.
Saturday's events will be in the Marbeck Center Commons, where an ethnic meal will be served from 5-6 p.m. and a variety show will follow at 6:30 p.m. A pi~nata will be available for children before the show, at 6:20 p.m., and a global display can be seen all evening, from 5-7:30 p.m.
Sponsoring the weekend is Bluffton's International Connection group. All of the events are free except the meal, which costs $3.75 for children ages 4-7 and $6.75 for ages 8 and up. Children ages 3 and under may eat for free.
