George G. Goldsberry was a heavy equipment operating engineer
George G. Goldsberry, 89, went home to his heavenly father on April 23, 2024, from the Meadows of Ottawa.
George was born August 13, 1934 in Hocking County, Ohio to Howard and Opal Goldsberry who preceded him in death. On October 18, 1953 he married Sandra (Tripplehorn) Goldsberry who preceded him in death on March 13, 2008.
He was a graduate of Gibisonville High School. He then dedicated many years to working as a heavy equipment operating engineer and a farmer. He was a lifetime member of the Historical Construction Equipment Association and a member of the Beaverdam United Church of Christ. He enjoyed restoring heavy equipment, camping, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his three children, Linda (Douglas) Edinger of Stonington, ME, Rod (Lori) Goldsberry of Bluffton, and Brian (LeeAnne) Goldsberry of Columbus Grove; seven grandchildren, Andrew (Katie) Edinger of Plain City, OH, Allison Edinger of Stonington, ME, Whit (Abby) Goldsberry of Bluffton, Sawyer (Kelsey) Goldsberry of Bluffton, Emily (Craig) Von Stein of Jenera, Ashley (Travis) August of Bluffton, Gabe (Jenna) Goldsberry of Columbus Grove, and 15 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Helen Goldsberry; and a brother, Howard Goldsberry, Jr.
Services will be held Friday, April 26, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services - Bluffton. William Herr to officiate the service. Burial will be in Campbell Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be Friday, April 26, 2024, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the West Ohio Food Bank or the Historical Construction Equipment Association.
