State Patrol investigating serious injury crash in Allen County
MARION TOWNSHIP __ The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a serious injury crash that occurred at 10:10 a.m. on May 20, 2024.
Carl Dugger was driving a Freightliner semi on Redd Rd. near Evans Rd. in Marion Township in Allen County. The semi drove off the right side of the roadway, came back on to the roadway, drove off the left side of the roadwa, and overturned.
Carl Dugger, age 77, from Columbus Grove, Ohio was trapped inside the vehicle after it overturned. He suffered life threatening injuries and was transported by American Township EMS to Mercy Health St. Rita’s in Lima, Ohio.
Mr. Dugger was driving a 1985 Freightliner Conventional that sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene by Beaverdam Fleet Service.
Redd Rd. was closed for several hours due to debris in the roadway.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by Delphos Fire, American Township Fire and EMS, Allen County EMA and Beaverdam Fleet Service.
The crash remains under investigation.
