Dorothy E. Lugibihl was a waitress at Ingalls Restaurant
Dorothy E. Lugibihl, 89, passed away August 3, 2024, at St. Rita's Medical Center.
Dorothy was born November 11, 1934 in Pandora to Ernest and Lona (Welty) Bauman who preceded her in death. On March 20, 1952 she married I. Luke Lugibihl who preceded her in death on March 7, 2009.
She was a graduate of Pandora High School and a member of Ebenezer Mennonite Church. She spent over 30 years as a dedicated waitress at Ingalls Restaurant. She and her late husband Luke started Lugibihl's Homemade Ice Cream, and spent many years traveling to different events. She never met a stranger, and would gift one of her homemade blankets to anyone who needed one. Dorothy was a prayer warrior and loved to read her Bible. She also enjoyed listening to gospel music, cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes, wintering at her home in Florida, spending time with her family and mowing her yard.
She is survived by two children, Joyce (Joe) Ginther of Ottawa and Jay Lugibihl of Bluffton; one granddaughter, Tracy (Teddy) Jackson-Brown of Fort Wayne, IN; a brother, Winfred (Elaine) Bauman of Bluffton; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Fred Bauman, Barbara Koontz, Carrie Miller and Bonnie Hector.
Services will be held Thursday August 8, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Ebenezer Mennonite Church with Pastor Dick Potter to officiate the service. Burial will be in Ebenezer Mennonite Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 7, 2024, 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services - Bluffton and Thursday, August 8, 2024, 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Ebenezer Mennonite Church: Missions Fund.
