Dan Lee named Coach of the Year; 6 Pirates 1st team all-league, 4 on 2nd team

Bluffton High School senior midfielder Jackson Brauen was named Northwest Conference boys soccer Player of the Year in voting recently conducted by the league coaches.

Bluffton dominated the all-league teams. Six players from the NWC champion Pirates were named first team all-league, while four more made the second squad.

Bluffton mentor Dan Lee was named NWC Coach of the Year. He guided the Pirates to another league title and their 46th straight league win without a loss in 10 seasons.

The Pirates ended the regular season 9-8 and 4-0 in NWC action to grab their 10th straight conference crown. Bluffton is 46-0-0 all-time in league play.

Senior MF Levi Antrim, junior MF/defender Isaiah Kohli, junior forward/defender Ethan Blount, sophomore MF Gavin Amstutz and sophomore MF Chase Kelly joined Brauen on the first team.

Junior forward Ollie Combs, junior defender Calvin Derstine, senior MF Caleb Davis and junior defender Landon Sehlhorst were all named second team All-NWC.

Pirate junior Ethan Hoffman and senior defender/goalkeeper Alek Davis earned honorable mention all-league notice.

Bluffton won the NWC title at 4-0, followed by Spencerville (3-1), LCC (1-3), Lincolnview (1-2-1) and Allen East (0-3-1).
