Veterans memorial to be dedicated at Beaverdam Cemetery
11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 9, Beaverdam Cemetery
The Beaverdam Veterans Committee and Beaverdam Village Council are hosting a memorial dedication on November 9 honoring veterans buried in the Beaverdam Cemetery, located south of Main St. across from the Church St. intersection.
Ceremonies will include local officials, a performance by Four Gals and a Guy vocal ensemble, Eli Lehman paying Taps and the American Legion Post 382 rifle squadron and color guard. Presentations will provide information about local honor flights to Washington D.C. and the history of Beaverdam Cemetery.
Committee member Gary Crawfis notes that 34 veterans are named on the monument. Their service dates back as far as the War of 1812 and includes Civil War and World War I veterans.
The Village of Beaverdam will block off Main St for the ceremony. Guests may park across the street at Thirsty’s Food & Spirits where attendees will gather for a meal after the ceremony.
