SANTA’S FIRE TRUCK
The Bluffton Fire Department is helping Santa get his sleigh ready for his annual trip around the world. While he is in town, Santa and the Bluffton Fire Department are coming to visit the library! Join us on Tue., Dec. 10 at 6:00 p.m. for a FREE night filled with reading, stories, and crafts. Register online, at the library front desk, or by call 419-358-5016 by December 9. Space is limited.
HOLIDAY DULCIMER MUSIC
The Riley Creek Strummers will be performing Holiday Dulcimer Music on Tue., Dec. 10 at 1:00 p.m. on the main floor of the Bluffton Public Library. Light refreshments provided by The Friends of the Bluffton Public Library.
NOON BOOK GROUP (R)
Meets Wed., Jan. 8, the group will discuss Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt. Stop by the library front desk to register and pick up the book, and to receive email information on other exciting opportunities! CONTINUES ▶︎
CRAFTERNOONS
Kids, Teens, and Families are invited to Crafternoons on Tuesdays, Dec. 17, and 31. Enjoy the day, get creative, and play together! The library will provide all the
materials.
MOVIE IN THE STACKS
Meet us on the main floor on December 19 at 3:30 p.m. for a family-friendly movie showing (rated G/PG). All are welcome and no registration is required! Popcorn is provided.
WINTER FAMILY STORYTIMES
Join the library for family storytime! We’ll share stories about snow and lights, create some crafts, and enjoy quality time together. No registration is required. Snowy Days: Wed., Dec. 11 at 10:30 a.m. and Twinkling Lights: Wednesday, Dec. 18 at 10:30 a.m.
MOBILE HEALTH CLINIC
The next Mobile Health Clinic will be on Thu., Dec. 12 from 9:00
a.m. to 11:00 a.m. All services are provided by individuals with the Ohio Northern
University Healthwise program. This clinic includes free screenings for blood pressure,
blood sugar, and cholesterol (please fast for 12 hours to participate in cholesterol or blood
sugar screening.) Participants may speak with ONU Healthwise students and staff about
their results or concerns, and even receive referrals to area doctors.
WATERCOLOR WORKSHOP
Let’s Skate (R)($) will be held Thu., Dec. 12 at 2:00 p.m. - 3:45 p.m. Local artist Jeanne Crumrine will teach on the lower level of the library. Walk away with your own watercolor piece of art, complete with mat! There is a $10 supply fee at the door (cash only please), and advance registration is required as space is limited. Open to adults and teens, and children with an accompanying adult.
GALLEY BOOK GROUP
Mixed Titles (R) will meet on Wed., Jan. 15 at noon. This discussion will be of an assortment of Galley books provided by the publishers, scheduled to be published Nov. 2024 or later. Register for the discussion, pick a book from the Galley Box at the library front desk, read as soon as you are able, and return. Repeat as desired until the discussion date, and always bring the book back and return it to the box so that someone else may read it. At the discussion, the group will briefly talk about each book read and rate the titles.
WORDS & WINE BOOK DISCUSSION
Help on Thu., Jan. 23 @ 6 p.m. at Greenhorn to discuss The Borrowed life of Frederick Fife by Anna Johnston while enjoying a glass of wine. Register and pick up the book at the Library during the month of December. There is limited seating and the book discussion is open to Adults 21+. Refreshments are available for purchase. Join us for an evening to relax, socialize and discuss.
PLAYGROUP
Most Fridays at 10 a.m. Make a playdate and the library will provide the space and toys!
CHILL ZONE
Held on Monday afternoons after school at 3:30 p.m. Chill Zone is a safe space for tweens and teens to hang out at the library. Anyone in grades 6-12 is welcome to join. Activities include gaming, socializing, themed events, and crafting. Snacks are provided.
HUMMIN' & STRUMMIN'
Song Circle be held on Monday Dec. 9 and 16 at 5:30 p.m. This is a relaxed, song-circle style music session and anyone is welcome to join or listen in. Bring your instrument, voice, or listening ears! Keep an eye out for changes in the 2025 schedule!
OPEN CHESS TUESDAYS
The library has an area designated on the Main Floor for open chess from 5:30-7:30 p.m. every Tuesday the library is open. Bring your own board or use one of the library’s! All ages are welcome!

HOLIDAY CLOSURES
Bluffton Public Library will be closed Tue. and Wed., Dec. 24-25 in observance of the holiday. Due dates will be adjusted accordingly and normal hours will resume Thurs., Dec. 26 at 9:30 a.m.
Bluffton Public Library will close at 5:30 p.m. on Tues., Dec. 31 and remain closed
Wed., Jan. 1, 2025. Regular hours resume on Thurs., Jan. 2 at 9:30 a.m. Due dates will
be adjusted accordingly.
