Events and Programs 

National Library Week, April 6–12, 2025, is a time to celebrate the many ways libraries bring people together, spark imagination, and support lifelong learning.

3D Printer is available - Check out our new Bambu Lab X1-Carbon 3D printer.  Suggested donations are 50-cents per hour of requested print to help cover the cost of the filament.

Lego at the Library – We provide the Legos, you show us your imagination.  Thursday, April 10.  All day for All ages. 

How to Decorate Cookies with Langan Family Finds – Learn how royal icing can take your baking to the next level.  Registration is required with a $10 cash fee at the door. Open to adults and teens accompanied with an adult. Saturday, April 12 @ 11 a.m.

Noon Book Group (R) meets Wed., Apr. 2 the group will discuss The House of Lincoln with author Nancy Horan via Zoom. The book that will be discussed on Wed., May 7 is Vera Wong’s Unsolicited Advice for Murderers by Jesse Q. Sutanto. Stop by the library front desk to register and pick up the book, and to receive email updates!

Not@Noon Book Group (R) will meet Thu., May 8 at 6:00 p.m. at the library with the same monthly title as Noon Book Group. For the months of May, June, August and September,  this group will be held at this evening time slot the Thursday evening after Noon Book Group. Depending on level of interest, the library may continue to host evening discussions. The May title will be available for checkout starting April 2.

Celebrate William Shakespeare’s birthday with a book discussion and cake! Lisa Robeson, Professor Emerita of English at ONU, will lead a discussion on Will in the World: How Shakespeare became Shakespeare by Stephen Greenblatt. Lisa has taught both introductory and advanced courses on Shakespeare. Copies of the book are available for checkout at the library front desk and there will also be a limited number of the books on CD available. Please register in advance when you pick up the book/CD or by phone if you are reading the book online.

Hummin' & Strummin' Song Circle will be held Mondays, April 7, 14, 21, and 28 at 6:00 p.m. This is a relaxed, song-circle style music session and anyone is welcome to join or listen in. Bring your instrument, voice, or listening ears!

Mobile Health Clinic: The next Mobile Health Clinic will be held on Thu., April 10 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. All services are provided by individuals with the Ohio Northern University Healthwise program. This clinic includes free screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol (please fast for 12 hours to participate in cholesterol or blood sugar screening.) Participants may speak with ONU Healthwise students and staff about their results or concerns, and even receive referrals to area doctors. *Note: Mobile Health Clinic Weather Policy: If the Bluffton or Ada school district have a weather delay or cancellation, Mobile Health Clinic will be cancelled that day. 

Watercolor Workshop: European Robin (R)($) will be held Thu., April 10 from 2:00 p.m. - 3:45 p.m. Local artist Jeanne Crumrine will teach on the lower level of the library. Walk away with your own watercolor piece of art, complete with mat! There is a $10 supply fee at the door (cash only please), and advance registration is required as space is limited. Open to adults, and teens and children with an accompanying adult.

“Duck” Acrylic Paint Class with Bluffton Art Company (R)($) will be held Tue., April 8 @ 6:00 p.m. Register at the library and come to the program prepared to try your hand at acrylic painting. Cost is $15 per person and will be taken at the door (cash only, please). Open to adults, and teens and children with an accompanying adult.

Teens (6th-12th grade) are invited to a Sherlock Holmes themed afternoon on "Mystery Monday" April 21 from 1-4 p.m.  We will be watching a film based on our favorite detective (rated PG-13) and playing mystery themed trivia.  Snacks provided!   Please register in advance at the library or online.  All students must have a movie release form on file.

Monday, Fun-day, New Book Day! -  Mon., April 28 at 6 p.m. Visit the library to check-out our newest additions to the kids section and build yourself a reading list. This program is open to kids grade K-5th (and their parents too!). Please register in advance at the library or online. 

Pre-K Storytime & Baby Storytime continues! Join us for a time of stories, games, crafts, and lots of fun while developing early literacy skills! When registering, please specify if your child has any food allergies, as snacks are often provided. Register online or at the library.

Baby Storytime is held on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. and is open to ages birth-2. 

Pre-K Storytime is held on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and is open to ages 3-5. 

Playgroup is held most Fridays at 10 a.m. Make a playdate and the library will provide the space and toys!

Open Chess on Tuesdays! The library has an area designated on the Main Floor for open chess from 5:30-7:30 p.m. every Tuesday the library is open. Bring your own board or use one of the library’s! All ages are welcome!

LEGO Library Showcase is BACK: The library is always excited to be showing local residents’ LEGO builds.  The LEGO builds can be sets or your own creations.   Register at the Main Desk and this event is open to ALL ages.  Bring in your builds starting May 1. The library will display the builds through July in conjunction with our 2025 SummerRead program “Color Your World”. Pick up will be August 4-9.

COVID-19 Test Kits
At-Home COVID Tests are available at the Library.  If you have been exposed to COVID-19, please call to schedule curbside pickup.
