Next town hall concert Aug. 6 - Katie Nelson and Scott Troyer

Katie Nelson and Scott Troyer's summer tour will include a Bluffton concert at 7 p.m., Saturday Aug. 6, in the third floor of the Bluffton town hall.

Donations are accepted at the door.

According to Wendy Chappell-Dick of the Bluffton Cultural Affairs Committee, "Katie Nelson and Scott Troyer claim the road as their home. Touring throughout the U.S. they play for audiences at a variety of venues like conferences, pubs, schools, churches, caf'es, prisons, theaters and homes."

According to Chappell-Dick: Katie has performed for tens of thousands of people across the United States and the world and distributed over 10,000 of her albums. Katie says, "I love walking away with new friends after a performance and feeling like we have been sitting in a living room sharing life together." This is reflective of her style of music - personal, intimate and relaxing.

Katie got her start in music by singing Allison Krauss tunes in her father's bluegrass band. He raised her on a steady diet of similar folk heroes such as Judy Collins, James Taylor, and Linda Ronstadt. Katie's rich, earthy voice is sometimes compared to modern artists like Sara Groves and Sarah McLachlan.

Scott Troyer is a singer, song-writer and producer. His music is at the crossroads of many genres as he explores and pays tribute to his many influences. Scott now travels extensively through the U.S. and abroad building friendships, and sharing his melodies with eager audiences.
