BHS students raise $886 in Student Senate holiday drive
As a service project, the Bluffton High School student senate decided to hold a money drive this winter. The money that was raised is going to benefit a few families in the surrounding area, according to Pam Riffle, student senate advisor.
A member of each of the families chosen is serving the the United States armed forces.
"This project was high school-wide and involved the grades competing against each other for the reward of a pizza party," she said.
The competition was close between all of the grades, but in the end the senior class won. Together the students at the high school raised about $886.
Members of the student senate are:
Seniors: Amanda Amstutz, Clay Atkins, Cory Hilty, Ryan Johnston
Juniors: Shannon McKamey, Danielle Rhonemus, Jared Staley, David Yoder
Sophomores: Jennifer Hieronimus, Michael Liska, Jamie Wickert, Mary Woodruff
Freshmen: Sierra Amstutz, Anna Crisp, Kory Enneking, Rachel Yoder.
