University homecoming king from Continental, queen from Pennsylvania
Seniors Elijah Tracy of Continental, and Jenna Eshleman of Landisville, Pa., were crowned Bluffton University's Homecoming king and queen before the annual Homecoming football game on Saturday, Oct. 1.
Tracy, the son of Buff and Tony Tracy, is majoring in religion with concentrations in biblical studies and theology. Among other campus activities, he is a hall chaplain, campus prayer room co-coordinator, Technology Center assistant and drummer for the Anabaptist Bestiary Project band. He graduated from Continental High School.
A social work major and volleyball player, Eshleman is a religion department assistant and a member of the Social Work Club, Brothers and Sisters in Christ (BASIC), the Shining Through music ministry team, the chapel planning committee and chapel band. The Hempfield (Pa.) High School graduate is the daughter of Keith and Susan Eshleman.
Other seniors in the Homecoming court were Nate Stroud of Troy, Ohio; Jacob Atkins of Spencerville, Ohio; Abby Carr of Ashland, Ohio; and Bethany Bowman of Piqua, Ohio.
Junior attendants were Lucas Fullenkamp of Botkins, Ohio, and Estee Arend of Oakwood, Ohio, while sophomore attendants were Jordan McFarland of New Carlisle, Ohio, and Kristen Satchwell of Normal, Ill.
Stroud, a graduate of Troy Christian High School, is a food and nutrition major with a concentration in dietetics. A C. Henry Smith Scholar, he is also president of the Bluffton University Nutrition Association, vice president of the campus Young Democrats, an assistant at the Learning Resource Center and a member of the men's tennis team. His parents are Jane Gray and Lawrence Stroud.
Atkins, the son of Andrew and Jennifer Atkins, is majoring in criminal justice with a minor in sociology. He is Lincoln Hall director and active in intramurals and ultimate Frisbee.
Carr is an intervention specialist major with a minor in peace and conflict studies. An Ashland High School graduate, she works at the Marbeck Center desk and will be student teaching in the spring. She is the daughter of Craig and Sally Carr.
Bowman is majoring in social work and is active on campus as a pastoral assistant and a Campus Ministries office assistant, and as a member of the Gospel Choir and the Spiritual Life Week planning committee. The daughter of Bob and Sheila Bowman, she is a Piqua High School graduate.
Fullenkamp, a Botkins High School graduate, is an English major and president of the English Club, a resident adviser and treasurer of the Bren-Dell Hall Association. He is a member of Camerata Singers, the Gospel Choir and the Accent! men's chorus, as well as the Homecoming Committee, and is also involved in Spanish Club and intramural volleyball. He is the son of Steven Fullenkamp and Tracy Fullenkamp.
A sport management major and business minor, Arend is chair of both the Homecoming Committee and the Marbeck Center Board. The Paulding High School graduate is also student trainer for volleyball and baseball and active in the Catholic Club. Her parents are Dana and Caroline Arend.
McFarland, who is undecided on a major, is a Northwestern High School graduate and the son of John and Mabel McFarland.
Satchwell is a social work major who is active in the Social Work Club, Recreation Club and intramurals. A graduate of University High School in Normal, Ill., she is the daughter of Rick and Connie Satchwell.
