Bluffton High School's Ladies First Choir will perform during the February senior citizens breakfast at the Bluffton middle school. Kara Zink directs the choir. The breakfast is at 8:30 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 8, in the cafetorium. The event is free to senior residents of the Bluffton school district.

This winter's soup and sandwich supper is from 4 to 6:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 27, at the Mennonite Memorial Home, 410 W. Elm St.

The event is hosted by the Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio Service group. The supper is avialable for eating in or take out.

Bluffton University released its February arts and event schedule. Events are free and open to the public unless noted otherwise. The schedule follows:

The Henry P. Huber Scholarship committee is currently accepting applications for the 2012-2013 school year.

Applications may be acquired from the Guidance Counselor at Bluffton High School, the Superintendent's office in the Bluffton Elementary School and from the Citizens National Bank in Bluffton.

Applicants are required to submit with their application, whether a high school senior or currently enrolled in college, the most recent transcript of their academic program. Applications must be filed with the committee by May 25, 2012.

Collegiate Employ-Net, a consortium of 16 colleges and universities in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan, will host its annual career fair from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, March 30 in the Owens Community College gymnasium.

Job seekers holding a certificate or degree from any accredited college or university are invited to attend this free event. Professional attire is required.

Ben Leybovich of Lima, financial and real estate expert, announced that he is available for speaking enagements.

Leybovich is a real estate entrepreneur who has built a portfolio of more than $1 million worth of real estate in the Lima area. He is a licensed real estate agent and is available to share his story with groups.

According to Anne Decker of Adman/Hold It Systems/Ad-On-Hold/ of Lima, Leybovich's talks are inspiring and educational in helping persons create their own financial stability and freedom.

Bluffton Middle School conducted its rite of eight grade on Jan. 18 - the eighth grade science fair. CLICK ON IMAGE TO ENLARGE.

According to Dave Bracy, science teacher, students started working on their projects in September and after a lot of research and testing they presented their projects to the judges on Jan. 18.

Eight students received superior scores and three students received excellent scores. Students receiving a superior score will move on to district competition at Ohio Northern University March 24.

Maple Crest Memory Garden

A Memory Garden project at Maple Crest will be built by Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio. The Memory Garden will be located by the main pond at Maple Crest. It will include a dock, screen house, walkway and reflection area, all surrounded by a beautifully planned garden of trees, shrubs and perennials. This collaboration has been in the making for two years, and both online news sources are excited to see it finally coming together.
