The Bluffton University women's soccer team advanced to its first-ever Heartland Conference tournament final match with a 3-2 win over #1 seed Earlham College this afternoon.
They will travel to #2 seed Hanover College for the finals at 1 PM on Saturday, Nov. 5. The winner of that match earns an automatic berth to the NCAA Regional tournament which starts next week.

Kim Keck was named the Mennonite Memorial Home employee of the month for November.
Keck has been a cook at Maple Crest for ten years. She is well known for the wonderful cookies she bakes. Keck is a team player that always offers to help her fellow employees as well as her supervisor. She is a dedicated employee that always goes above and beyond her expectations. She is well liked by fellow staff and enjoys her interaction with the residents. Congratulations Kim!
Bluffton Senior Citizens' annual meeting on Nov. 14 will honor members who died since the 2010 annual meeting. The meeting will also include an election of new board members, plus include a catered dinner with entertainment of some Western style square dancing.
Reservations for the dinner are required by Wednesday, Nov. 7. The meeting is at 6 p.m., Monday, Nov. 14, at the Center on Main Street.
An American Red Cross blood drive is planned this month at Cory-Rawson High School. The drive is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 8.

Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental permission in some states), meet weight and height requirements (110 pounds or more, depending on their height) and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood.
Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 8375 Phillips Road, will hold its annual fall fish fry in Novemer.
The event is from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 11, in the church. Tickets are $7 for adults, and $3.50 for youth 10 and under.
Bluffton Public Library will host an after-school program on Tuesday, Nov. 15, to celebrate the release of the sixth book in the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" series, Cabin Fever. The program will take place from 3:30-4:30 p.m. No registration is required for this program, and any fan of the book series may attend.
"Children planning to attend the party should brush up on their 'Wimpy Kid' knowledge to compete for prizes in our trivia games," said youth services coordinator Rikki Unterbrink.
Bluffton Public Library will be closed from Nov. 24-26 in observance of Thanksgiving. The library will reopen on Monday, Nov. 28, at 9:30 a.m. Due dates for library materials will be adjusted accordingly.
