On May 21 and 22, the Bluffton Soccer Club hosted the Kohl's American Cup soccer tournament on the Bluffton University campus.
In the 10-team U12 coed group, Bluffton's teams-the United, Crew, and Fire+Revolution-swept the top three spots, finishing (respectively) first, second, and third.
The Riverdale Force won the U12 girls' division, while the Arlington Arsenal won the U15 division. Sportsmanship awards went to the Riverdale Storm (U12C), Riverdale Galaxy (U12G), and Bluffton Fusion (U15).

Bluffton's sesquicentennial will consist of an entire week of displays, lectures, celebratory events and performances, an Indian Village and even some civil war era re-inactments.

The Bluffton Area Ministerial Association will conduct a community worship service at 9 a.m., Sunday, June 26, on the Bluffton Presbyterian Church lawn.
In conjunction with the sesquicentennial, the S.H.A.N.N.O.N. Service Club of Bluffton is sponsoring a street fair/flea market on Friday, July 1, according to Duane Bollenbacher.
The event is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Church Street, between Main and Jackson.
Activities include a fishing booth, games, activities for children, and free Face-Painting. Lunch stand will be open at 11 a.m.. To reserve a vendor space for the flea market (cost is $10), contact Deb Bollenbacher at 419-358-7365.
Bluffton's Girl Scout Service Unit announces a new "Girl Scout Journey" to celebrate Bluffton's 150 year anniversity.
According to Wendy Chappell-Dick: This new troop is coming together to learn survival techniques of the early pioneers - how did they farm, wash, cook, dance, play and dress?
"We will make our own pioneer costumes and participate in several Community Sesquicentennial events- leading games and songs at a historic schoolhouse June 26 and riding in the parade July 2.

I remember the first song that I learned to sing in harmony at age five- I thought it was the most beautiful thing I had ever heard. It was a praise song from my parents' house church.

Bluffton Diamond Sports will hold a batting cage fundraiser this summer. Persons may buy raffle tickets from any baseball or softball player.
Tickets are $10 each and are good for a cash drawing. The drawings are each Monday through Saturday for the month of July. There will be 26 drawings and 26 chances to win.
Apollo Career Center will be offering summer school remedial classes from June 13 through July 1. Students in grades 9-12 are eligible to attend. The registration fee is $120 per class.
Students registering after Friday, June 10, will be charged an additional $10 fee per course.
