The BMS Middle School track coach will hold a parent/student meeting in the Bluffton Middle School cafetorium regarding the upcoming track season. Parents and students are encouraged to attend.
The 7th graders at Bluffton Middle School will hold a pulled pork dinner on Friday, February 25th from 4-6:00 at the Bluffton Middle School. Menu consists of pulled pork sandwich, homemade cheesy potatoes, green beans, & cookie. Cost is $6.00. Tickets are available in the BMS office or from any 7th grade student. Tickets will be sold until 2/18.
Cupid's Cupboard and Cafe with a bake sale and lunch is planned from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 12, at St. John's United Church of Christ, 223 W. College Ave.
The cafe menu includes a selection of homemade soups, a hot chicken sandwich, relishes, pie and beverages. Meals are $5 each. Ala carte items are $2.
Forum to feature Student Senate presidential candidate
Samantha Lawrence, a Bluffton University junior from Harrod, and the lone candidate for Student Senate president for 2011-12, will answer student questions during a Bluffton Forum at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, in Founders Hall.
Lawrence will address pre-submitted questions and take others from students at the event, which is free and open to the public. Serving as moderator will be Rudi Kauffman, assistant professor of restorative justice.

"In the next few months we will know more from the new governor on his plan to fund schools over the next two years," writes Greg Denecker, Bluffton school superintendent, in the winter school district newsletter released to residents of the school district this week.
Denecker's first-page column added that what we currently know is that the State of Ohio will be looking to save around $5 to $8 billion depending on which estimate is used for the state budget projections.
