RSVP by November 12

The public is invited to the Blanchard River Watershed (BRWP) Annual Meeting on November  15 to “Imagine a single day without water!”, the featured presentation by Jason Phillips, Findlay  Water Plant Superintendent. The 12:00 noon meeting, with lunch provided by RSVP, will be held at  the Findlay Elks Lodge, 900 W. Melrose Ave., Findlay.

During the weekend of November 9-10 the Bluffton Icon will transition to a new streamlined, 2-column design. During that window of opportunity, we’ll also be on an extended Veteran’s Day weekend holiday with content for both websites on pause except for breaking news, including sports.

The design includes several new features:

Bluffton Elementary School has announced the following honor roll for the first nine weeks of the 2024-2025 school year for grades 4 and 5.

4th Grade A/B:

Some serious quilters take over the third floor of Bluffton Town Hall for sewing retreats. On this early November weekend, sewists enjoyed setting up their machines, materials and snacks for an uninterrupted three days of work. For more information, contact Deb Beer at 419-358-4107.

Bluffton High School will host a second round OHSAA Regional Playoffs game on Friday, Nov. 8. The Pirates will play Huron at 7:00 p.m. at Harmon Field.

Presale tickets are available at www.ohsaa.org/tickets for $11 Adults and $5 Students. Cash only tickets are available at the gate. The gates open at 6 p.m.

Blanchard Valley Health System has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in nuclear medicine as the result of a recent review by the American College of Radiology (ACR).  

Bluffton businesses are gearing up for the second annual Jingle Bell Stroll, from noon to 7:00 p.m. on November 14. Over 18 local businesses will welcome ticket holders to spread cheer and celebrate the holiday season.

Tickets are available in advance at Shirley’s Gourmet Popcorn, Roots by Strattons, Polished/Boutique 415 and The Black Lab. They’re limited to 225 and priced at $10 each.

Peanut brittle making and sales have begun for the 2024 holiday season at the Bluffton Senior Center, 132 N. Main St. The center sells the candy in one-pound bags for $10. It will be available until the last bag is sold.

The Senior Center has been making peanut brittle as a fundraiser for 50 years. This has been one of the biggest, most consistent fundraisers for the nonprofit organization. 

The Village of Bluffton has announced that the Parks & Recreation Committee will meet on Thursday, November 7 at 6:00 p.m.

The meeting will be at Bluffton Town Hall, 154 N. Main St.
