1-21-10 Winter frost

THE FROST IS ON THE PUMPKINS, TOO

Fickle Ohio winter weather. One day it's freezing, the next day is in the 40s, the next day it frosts. Here's Ohio on a day with the frost is on the trees. Sunny skies, however.

GMDE

Greg Ring doesn't make it easy to take a photo of his license plates. He covers the plates with some sort of protective devise. It really causes a glare when you take a photo with a flash. Greg ought to know better. GMDE stands for Greg, Mary, Don and Ethan Ring.

A Country Boy Reflects on Water

I grew up on a farm in good country. A creek ran through the southwestern corner of it. A creek is a natural waterway larger than a run but smaller than a river. In romantic lore, poets have celebrated the rivers of the earth - the Rhine and Danube, the Volga and Don, the Tigris and Euphrates. In Allen and Putnam counties it's the Riley, the Blanchard, the Auglaize and Ottawa of which natives speak. So close to home, those small waters seldom rise to the level of romance.
