The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce will host a November 8 member Breakfast Meeting from 7-8:30 a.m. at Bluffton Town Hall. The event is a Veterans Days celebration sponsored by Citizens National Bank. Greenhorn will be catering the breakfast.
Michael Ayres will present the program A Tribute to Our Flag. Information compiled for this presentation will cover over 200 years of red, white, and blue history.

Including the well-publicized race for U.S. president and vice president, all Bluffton Precinct A, B and C voters will have 23 federal, state and regional items to vote on in the November 5, 2024 general election. Precinct B votes also have a liquor license to consider. ▶︎
Katie Kuntz Wineland ’13, community minister with The Belonging Table and community outreach coordinator at Bittersweet Farms will speak during Bluffton University’s Forum at 11 a.m. on Nov. 12 in Yoder Recital Hall. The title of her presentation is “Keep Called and Carry On: Building Promise-Led Lives and Communities.”
During the presentation, she’ll share her experience of community building amidst polarization in fulfillment of a spiritual calling.
Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio (MHCO) is thrilled to announce the success of its 3rd Annual Gala, held earlier this month. MHCO's Gala is a fundraising event to benefit the Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio Benevolent Care Fund, which provides support to care for older adults who have outlived their resources.
Here's a sampler of instruments in the lute family found at a recent Hummin' and Strummin' session at the Bluffton Public Library. Six string guitars predominate, but you'll find them in various sizes as well as bass guitars, mandolins and ukuleles. Twelve player-singers were at this session, which repeats from 5:30-7:00 p.m. on Mondays when the library is open.
Bluffton High School Senior Danielle Cross and horse Riley recently attended the American Quarter Horse Congress in Columbus, Ohio.
Cross attended pole bending and barrel racing events and set some personal best times. The pair made the top 5 out of 74 riders in Level 1 youth pole bending.
The top 15 of each class were brought back into the arena to receive an award and picture with the Congress Queen.

Registration is open for a 3-hour Fused Glass Pendant Workshop with Bluffton artist Judith Greavu. This fundraiser for the Friends of the Bluffton Public Library is $50.00. To register, call 419-348-5329.
Multiple pieces of glass will be arranged, stacked and glued in preparation for kiln fired fusing. It is suggested that participants base their designs on moods, feelings or actions associated with a favorite book.
Lindsay Steiner, a 2001 Bluffton High School graduate, received the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse Eagle Excellence in Academic Advising Award. Steiner has been an associate professor of English since 2013.
In 2017 Steiner was one of six Eagle Teaching Excellence Award winners from among nearly 800 nominations at the university, which enrolls close to 10,000 students.
BLUFFTON __ The Bluffton High School football team began its post-season with a methodical 21-6 win over visiting Paulding in the first round of Div. VI, Region 22 play at Harmon Field on Friday, November 1.
