Mondays -Thursdays: 9:30 a.m.-8:00 p.m. 

Fridays: 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. 

Saturdays: 9:30 a.m-2:00 p.m. 

EVENTS AND PROGRAMS

From Jan. 1 to Jan. 31, Bluffton Public Library is participating in “All the Feels,” a Winter Reading Challenge sponsored by Beanstack. We challenge our community to read and log at least 7 hours a week during the challenge. Earn fun emoji-themed badges for logging your reading, completing activities, submitting book reviews, and earning bingo.  Paper and digital bingo cards are available!

Hot Tea Tuesdays are back! In January and February, stop by the library between 10:00 and 2:00 and get yourself a cup of hot tea to warm up with during your library visit!

Noon Book Group meets in person Wed. Jan. 4 to discuss The Water Keeper by Charles Martin. On Feb. 1, the group will discuss The Last Thing He Told Her by Laura Dave.  Stop by the library's front desk to pick up the book for the next discussion and to sign up for email updates and reminders.  Soon to come - the 2023 Noon Book Group book list!

Hummin' & Strummin' Song Circle:  Jammin' @ the Library has a new name and will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Mondays when the library is open.  (Check the library calendar or website.) This is a relaxed, song-circle style music session and anyone is welcome to join or listen in. Bring your instrument, voice, or listening ears!

Galley Book Group will meet Wed., Jan. 18 at 12:00 to discuss the advance reader (galley) version of The Angel Maker by Alex North (genre: dark, suspenseful thriller) to be published in February 2023. The group will meet in person on Wed., Feb. 15 at 12:00 to discuss If We're Being Honest by Cat Shook (debut author; genre: domestic fiction) to be published in April 2023. This group will be held the third Wed. of the month as new galleys become available. Receive the book in advance, read it, meet to discuss, and then a feedback survey will be filled out and sent to the publisher. Limited copies available. Watercolor Workshop: Homestead will be held Thurs., Jan. 19 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. Local artist Jeanne Beutler will teach on the lower level of the library. Walk away with your own watercolor piece of art, complete with mat! There is a $10 supply fee at the door (cash only please), and advance registration is required as space is limited. Open to adults and teens/children (with a participating adult).

Fred Steiner presents: Before We Were Pirates - Stories of Bluffton sports teams from 1890 to 1929 on Mon., Jan. 23 at 3:00 p.m., Fred Steiner will share stories of many early Bluffton athletic teams from several different sports starting in the 1890s and going all the way to 1929 – in this era before Bluffton HS became the Pirates.  Please register by Jan. 20.

A Gathering of Readers: Sign up to come on Sat., Jan. 28 at 11:00 a.m., sip a hot cuppa, and share your top 2 most favorite and 2 least favorite books that you read or listened to in the last year! When you register, be sure to share your favorite titles; you will receive a printed list of all titles on the day of the program!

Pre-K Storytime & Baby Storytime begins in February. Registration opens online Jan. 16! Register via QR code or starting Jan 17 call or stop by the library's front desk to register. Register for Monday evenings @ 6:00 p.m. OR Wednesday mornings at 10:00 & 10:30 a.m.

Mobile Health Clinic returns Fri., Jan. 27 from 11:30 a.m to 1:30 p.m. All services are provided by individuals with the Ohio Northern University Healthwise program. This clinic includes free screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol (please fast for 12 hours to participate in cholesterol or blood sugar screening) and osteoporosis. Participants may speak with ONU Healthwise students and staff about their results or concerns, and even receive referrals to area doctors. Please notice: Covid-19 vaccinations are not available at these clinics.

COVID-19 Test Kits

At-Home Abbott BinaxNow test kits are available at the Library. We are limiting 2 boxes per household per day. These self-administered test kits contain 2 tests per box. If you have been exposed to COVID-19, please call to schedule curbside pickup.
