The Bluffton Icon moderates real and spam comments on our social media: Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
Unfortunately, news such as events--especially those with tickets for sale or vendor opportunities--as well as news involving deaths, are prime targets for spammers. On these occasions, the Icon will hide or shut off comments for a post.
The Bluffton Icon underwent a design makeover in mid-November 2024 and will continue to have other improvements made in the near future.
I'm happy to report that the Google search function located at upper right on the menu bar--which was not responding at all--is improved and we're continuing to work on it.

The Ada Icon and other regional news outlets have recently had a flurry of reports on fatal and injury traffic crashes. Ran red light/stop sign has been cited as a variable in several crashes. These incidents make me sad, scared and angry–feelings that are shared by many who are commenting on social media about the crashes and seeking ways to prevent injuries and fatalities.
During the weekend of November 9-10 the Bluffton Icon will transition to a new streamlined, 2-column design. During that window of opportunity, we’ll also be on an extended Veteran’s Day weekend holiday with content for both websites on pause except for breaking news, including sports.
