Lalo Cura from Goshen, Indiana

Lalo Cura, a Spanish rock band based in Goshen, Ind., will perform in a Bluffton Town Hall Concert Series on Friday, June 30, according to Jeff Yoder.

The performance is on the third floor. From 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. light food is available. The performance is at 7:30 p.m.

Formed in 2012, Lalo Cura has developed a sound that combines every musical genre that has influenced each member of the group.

The band is led by Rafael Chávez y Moreno on guitar and vocals, Sam Que on saxophone, Sonny Carreño on drums and Adam Hart on bass.

Starts Friday evening at Bluffton Family Recreation - Bluffton Relay for Hope

It’s Bluffton Relay for Hope weekend Friday and Saturday, June 23-24.

You’ve already figured that out by seeing the hanging items from Main Street Bluffton store awnings.

All events take place at Bluffton Family Recreation, 215 Snider Road with events beginning at 2 p.m. Friday and concluding at 8 a.m. Saturday.

Tuesday evening in Lima Public Library

A meet the candidate event for Andrew Mackey takes place from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 20, in the Lima Public Library, 650 W. Market St., Lima.

Mackey will run against Jim Jordan, U.S. Congressman, in Ohio's Fourth District. The event is sponsored by AHEAD: Allen and Hardin for Election Action and Democracy.

Emmanuel United Church of Christ will hold an ice cream social from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 4, at the church.

The menu includes chicken or sloppy joe sandwiches, chicken noodles, baked beans, a variety of salads, pies, pluse ice cream and beverages.

Tickets are $8 adults, $4 children 10 and under.

The church is located at 8375 Phillips Road, Bluffton

Vendor booths still available; invitation to join the parade

Planning is underway for this year’s Ada Area Chamber of Commerce’s Harvest and Herb Festival, according to David Dellifield, chamber president.

This year’s festival is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 16. As in past year’s, it will fill Ada’s Main Street from Highland to College. Main Street will be closed at State Route 235 all the way to State Route 81.

The festival has 180 spaces available for vendors.  Booths are 12 feet wide by 8 feet deep and are available while they last. A limited number of booths requiring electricity are also available while they last.

FROM ADA ICON - You've heard their music throughout Ada since June 2, now the Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps is ready for their Thank You Ada concert. The free concert will begin at 8 p.m. at the Dial-Roberson Stadium on the ONU campus.

After practicing in Ada, the Cadets will take their show on the road from coast to coast, competing against other corps from the U.S. and Canada. The 15O-member Cadets Corps includes more than 100 musicians.
