A Punt, Pass and Kick Competition was held Sept.17 at the Trinity Lutheran School Athletic Field in Jenera. Of the 20 participants, the following winners will proceed to the sectional competition on Oct. 16 in Tiffin.
Another 5-0 whitewash by the Bluffton High School girls' tennis team upped its winning streak to nine as Fostoria High was the latest victim.
None of the three Pirate singles performers lost more than a game per set as Ashlin Gable, Emily Sprague and Kristi Geiser tallied straight set wins. All have recorded 10 or more singles victories this fall.
Shaye Liddick and Shannon Koch also had little trouble in gaining two sets, while Rachel Sehlhorst and Bronwyn Greer needed a third-set tiebreak to gain their win.

Coach Jesse Sensenig's netters downed the hosts 4-1 as Ashlin Gable, Emily Sprague and Kristi Geiser scored straight set victories. Gable and Geiser now have won 10 or more matches four straight years, while Sprague, a junior, has three double-digit seasons.
The Bluffton High School girls tennis team won their seventh straight match by shutting out Lima Senior Monday afternoon at Harmon Field courts. All five wins were in straight sets.
Ashlin Gable and Emily Sprague took 6-0, 6-0 decisions at No. 1 and 2 singles, respectively, while Kristi Geiser received a forfeit at No. 3.
Shannon Koch and Shaye Liddick and Rachel Sehlhorst and Bronwyn Green also won straight set matches in the doubles competition.
Remember the 1991 BHS football season? How could you forget. An early season over-time win against Paulding, the hook-and-ladder play, the semi-truck that stated "Fear Us," 82 second to go, no timeouts, Minster with the ball and the lead on the Pirate 27...yet BHS won in OT 24-17.

The Bluffton Athletic Department will honoring the 1991 state runner up football team at half time of Friday's game against Crestview, according to Alex Hanna, BHS athletic director.
